OpsLevel Job Board

Product Designer
Toronto, Ontario, Canada

About Us

We’re OpsLevel. We’re a seed stage startup based in Toronto, Canada with an experienced roster of ex-PagerDuty, ex-Shopify, and ex-Amazon folks.

We help software teams with large production infrastructures work faster and improve their operations, reliability, and security. Our product provides a single pane of glass for all of the infrastructure and observability tooling required for service ownership and DevSecOps adoption.

Since raising our seed round in 2019, we’ve been steadily building our product, growing our customers, and growing our team.

Our users' experience is paramount, so we focus on all aspects of UX, from our UI to our APIs. As an engineering team, we also take great care with code quality, maintainability, and scalability (while also building fast).

Our Values

In addition to the specific job responsibilities, we want to work with folks who embody our cultural values:

  • Empathy: Think of others; think of your users
  • Growth Mindset: Get comfortable with being uncomfortable
  • Intellectual Honesty: The best solution is more important than anyone's ego
  • Focus & Efficiency: Keep the main thing the main thing
  • Simplicity

What We’re Looking For

We are a small team and you will be our first product designer hire. Reporting to the CTO and working closely with our founders, we want someone who can:

  • Conduct UX research and discovery, speaking to various software engineering teams and managers about operations, reliability, and security initiatives
  • Create wireframes and interactive prototypes to test and validate new product features and experiences
  • Work with the engineering team throughout the design process to bring your ideas to fruition
  • Follow up on data and metrics to continuously validate your designs even after they have shipped
